Diddy Target Of New “Swatting” Prank

Diddy is the latest target of a “swatting” prank, in which someone uses a bogus emergency to send police racing to a celebrity’s home.

On Wednesday, cops were dispatched to the rap mogul’s Los Angeles house after a hoaxer reported that someone had been shot at the residence.

According to our source, more than a dozen police cars wound up at the property (and at Steve Carell’s home next door), having been “swatted” by the 911 prank.

While it’s obviously good news that no one was actually hurt or killed, it’s unfortunate that these “swatting” pranks have become so common in Hollywood, as they divert law enforcement personnel and resources from real crimes.

The minor who “swatted” Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber

 last year was eventually apprehended.

Tom Cruise has also been victimized, as was Chris Brown
