Reebok Drops Rick Ross After Controversy Over Lyrics
There seem to be troubled times ahead for rapper Rick Ross due to the controversial lyrics of a song he recently released.
Athletic goods retailer Reebok has terminated its relationship with rapper Rick Ross, whose song featuring lyrics that seem to boast about drugging and defiling a woman has caused an uproar.
Ross had an endorsement deal with the company and promoted its shoes in print and TV commercials.
The song in question contains the verse: “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” “Molly” is slang for the drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy.
Women’s rights organizations and have been challenging Ross’ song “U.O.E.N.O.,” a January release that contains lyrics that seem to refer to drugging and having s*x with a woman who is unaware of what is happening.
Some radio stations have also taken the song out of rotation due to all the trouble it has caused.
Reebok, while explaining its action, issued the following statement: “While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones s*xual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse”
“At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross,” it said.
The Miami based rapper, who recently survived an attempt on his life, however insists that the song doesn’t condone r*pe but that the lyrics have been misinterpreted.

Rapper attempts to kill friend to join ‘Illuminati’ and become famous
Some Nigerian artists are joining Illuminati, just for fame, and wealth, why sell your soul for devil just because of fame, why join Illuminati? please readers this story is not fiction, it is real,, the likes like dbanj, psquare to name few Nigerian artists are believed to have sold their soul to the devil, by joining the Illuminati,
It can be dangerous when a conspiracy theory gets out of hand. For several years, individuals who have very little experience with proper research have created videos and books about the Illuminati’s role in hip-hop.
These individuals post ill-advised documents that suggest that all great hip-hop stars had to sacrifice someone or themselves to reach stardom in the entertainment industry.
One inspiring rapper from Richmond, Virginia took the conspiracy theory a bit too far.
According to reports by the Times Dispatch, Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin attempted to murder his friend while the two were in a studio. El-Amin told his friend that he needed to sacrifice someone to join the Illuminati and become famous in rap.
Soon after, El-Amin pointed a gun at his friend and fired a shot. The bullet grazed his friend in the arm. The victim was able to wrestle the gun away from El-Amin and shot him in the stomach.
El-Amin is awaiting trial in June

New Upcoming Nigerian Singer Tonnero Based in Netherlands
New Upcoming Nigerian Singer Tonnero Based in Netherlands
Anthony Onowhawo Eroh, better known as Tony Tonnero was born in
Sapele, Delta State, Nigeria in the eighties. Tonnero is a singer-songwriter
and ready to bring his music around the world. Music is universal he said. To
create a beat he finds his inspiration in little things like sounds he is
hearing at the beach or in the streets. Then he starts recording on his phone
and before you know it a new beat is born. He wrote his first song in 2006
with the title 'together'. It was never released. The best inspiration and
motivation for the lyrics is his family and society. He wants his family to have everything
in life.
His example in life is his mother. He has great respect for her as
a mother of ten children. She gave them the right skills in life to stand
strong in this world. At home they listened to a lot of African music, native,
old school, western music, R Kelly, Celine Dion and Boys 2 Men. When I ask him
if he has this singing-writing skills from his parents he starts laughing and
said: No, God gave me that talent.
Tonnero loves to sing about peace and love and things that happen
in his life. But it will change every now and then. The future will be
different from what he is doing now. At the moment Tonnero is working on his
first album and also the songs Hustle Hard and Can't get enough will be on this
album.
Tonnero is in a relationship and they have a 5 year old son.
Besides being a great family they also work together in their foundation and
support each other in their careers. Last but not least, Tonnero is a very
caring and interesting person to be with. He is a down to earth person and does
not like arguments.
As a message to his fans and young artists he said: hustle hard
and believe in what you are doing. Believe and you will achieve.
About the song Can’t get enough
Can’t
get enough is about love. Relationship kind of love, the love from a man to a
woman. True love is one of the most beautifull things in life to experience. I
wish that for everybody cause when you do, you can’t get enough of it. We have
to keep on loving……….one love

GOVERNOR AKPABIO REPLIES TUFACE!

| GOVERNOR AKPABIO REPLIES TUFACE! |
There have been much fuss over Governor Akpabio's gift at the traditional marriage ceremony of Tuface Idibia and Annie Macaulay which was held on Friday 8th March 2013 in Eket Akwa Ibom State. There was media speculations about Friday’s presentation of two SUVs to Nigerian hip pop star, TuFace Idibia, and wife, Annie Macaulay, by Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio, at their traditional wedding and this got a lot of Nigerians railing at the profligacy of public officials. According to the speculations, it was also reported that the lucky couple will also travel in the luxury of the company of 29 delegates from Akwa Ibom to the United Arab Emirate, UAE, courtesy of the governor, who also promised to throw the state’s treasury open to bankroll an all-expense paid trip for the white wedding scheduled for March 23 in Dubai. Lots have been said online and on print media about this issue and now, here's the real deal!
Below is a release by the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Information. It is good to hear from the real source!
Following spurious and false speculations in the social media concerning the wedding gift by Governor Godswill Akpabio to Mrs. Annie Innocent Idibia, née Macaulay, I wish to state as follows:
1. That the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Chief Godswill Akpabio, donated ONE Prado jeep to Mrs. Annie Innocent Idibia, nee Macaulay a daughter of Akwa Ibom State and renowned artist during her traditional marriage at Eket .
2. That the State Governor as a token of support for the couple promised to fund the traveling expenses (economy return tickets) for ONLY TWENTY relatives of Mrs. Annie
Idibia Macaulay to Dubai, where the couple have chosen to wed.
3. That looking carefully at the surrounding events in perspective, Mrs. Annie Idibia, nee Macaulay is a daughter of Akwa Ibom State and the gift of a Prado SUV from her governor is only a gesture of love and goodwill. More so, her resolve to stand by her husband in his journey from his days of youthful beginnings to stardom even in the face of challenges was commendable and a true attribute of Akwa Ibom women.
4. That It is however unbecoming that mischief makers and enemies of progress have decided to inflame the social with incongruous reports that the State Government is sponsoring a entourage of party supporters to the wedding in Dubai, when in fact the Government is only sponsoring the travel expenses of twenty of her family members at an estimated cost of roughly Three Million Naira (N3,000,000.00) only.
5. I wish to therefore urge members of the public to discountenance the misrepresentations made out of a well intentioned act of the governor.
Signed
Aniekan Umanah
